QUILTED PATCHWORK

(click on an image to enlage)

Description: If you enjoy free-motion machine quilting, then you will love this! Heavy machine quilting gives you the block designs, which can be from a traditional source or your own original designs.

Perfect technique for those lovely hand-dyed fabrics our New Zealand fabric artists produce.

SERENDIPITY STARS

(click on an image to enlage)

Description: Stars with a surprise - two from one!

This should suit both traditional & contemporary quilt makers. And guess what? No bonding material in sight! No drawing, no templates, but speed cutting & easy construction.

Just true raw edge appliqué and so easy you won't believe it. Plenty of plain diamonds to show off your quilting skills and can be made as scrap quilt or with a more limited fabric colour range.

MACHINE MAGIC - 'Koru Kurls' - 1 or 2 day workshop.

Description: A contemporary design based on the traditional 'Drunkard's Path', using a koru motif.

Create 4 x square blocks for waves in diagonal, vertical or horizontal settings.

Or set on large strip pieced background for an 'Art Quilt' look.

Choose from several quilt layout designs.

Technique used appliqué (by machine of course!)

COLOURING-IN WITH PATTERN & FABRIC - 2 day workshop.

Description:
This is a class for contemporary quilt lovers. Take a simple abstract design, then colour-in with pattern, then with fabric, to make a quilt unique to you. Design choices will be a large part of this class, and imaginations will be thrown into top gear! Not as difficult as it may sound.

We will think small for this quilt, and get you started on a new way of quilt designing. Techniques taught in class will cover: scaling-up designs to full size tops; construction of design to fabric; using colour to add depth to your quilt tops. As imaginations don't always kick-in when required, three simple abstract designs will be supplied for class participants' use. How to create your own abstract designs will be discussed.
